TIM Hall is taking over as the new head professional at the Gorsley-based Ross club from April 1.

Originally from Bewdley, Hall will arrive after occupying a similar position at Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire.

Hall won the much coveted award of 2011 Foremost EMP golf professional of the year and will head a three-year teaching campaign in magazine National Club Golfer.

Through his own golf school which will continue, he has worked with a wide range of players of differing abilities.

Hall will be developing golf within the community by liasing with schools and local organisations.

At a recent reception, club president Di Honey also welcomed new secretary manager Leighton Walker who will start in mid- March.

Walker, from Adelaide, Australia, worked at Bristol Golf Club.

Meanwhile, the Ross course was ranked number 57 in National Club Golfer’s Britain’s best 100 courses category
