A DIABETIC mum who was depressed about her weight has lost three stone in just nine months thanks to a slimming regime – and now she’s helping others get trim.

Hayley Wharton of Kempsey, near Worcester has had an issue with her weight since she married nine years ago but has been able to lose weight by using a Slimming World course.

Being an insulin dependent diabetic since the age of eight, she used this as an excuse for not shedding weight because she needed carbohydrates.

After her dramatic results, she has recently trained as a consultant for Slimming World and opened a group at Nunnery Wood Primary School which meets on Mondays at 7pm.

Mrs Wharton, aged 33, said: “I was extremely embarrassed about my weight but was in denial. I was feeling very depressed about how I looked, and I knew it was time to take some positive action.

“The last straw came when I tried on a swimming costume in preparation to take my second baby to the pool and I saw myself in a 360º mirror.

“I was a size 16-18 at the time and was creeping up to an 18-20. I felt depressed and thought enough was enough, I couldn’t kid myself any longer that it was the baby weight I needed to lose. The eating plan was just fantastic, you can eat family meals like cottage pie, spaghetti bolognese or my particular favourite, minced beef hash.

“The eating plan encourages you to eat lots of filling foods like pasta, rice, potatoes and lean meat and fish. You are never hungry – no foods are banned so there’s no deprivation.”

Everyone is welcome, past members, new members, male, female and children between 11 and 15. To find out more about her group turn up or call her on 07793 848656.
