Do you have the brass to join our band?

A THRIVING band is looking to build on its recent success by inviting more members to swell its ranks.
Ledbury Community Brass Band says it has reached a point where having more local brass players would be advantageous, and is now trying to recruit musicians of any age who are about grade one standard or upwards.
Spokesman Helen Holloway said: “The brass band is a great opportunity for people of all ages and from all walks of life to meet and play together.
“Currently, the youngest members are 10- years-old but membership is split roughly, with half adults and half young people, and this makes for a great balance of youth and experience.”
She added: “We have built a reputation over the last year for a combination of quality brass playing and entertaining programmes of music.
“The band has played at some prestigious events over the last year and already has lots of exciting events lined up for 2012.”
The band meets in the reception hall at Ledbury Primary School from 7.15-8.15pm on Thursday nights during term time and subs are £3 per week to cover expenses.
