11:40am Tuesday 16th March 2010
EXTENSIVE work to alleviate flooding along the A417 in Corse has now been completed.
Forest of Dean District Council, in partnership with the highways department at Gloucestershire County Council, has also completed work in Moat Lane and Ledbury Road in the neighbouring parish of Staunton.
The work has involved laying new pipe work and improvements to roadside drainage ditches.
Staunton Parish Council has written to the district council thanking it for undertaking the work.
District councillor Martin Quaile, responsible for the environment, said: “Protecting and improving the environment is one of our key priorities, so I’m very pleased that, working with the county council, we’ve been able to implement these improvements successfully for the residents of Corse and Staunton.”
